About this prototype

This is a functional prototype built for the NHS Race & Health Observatory Digital Sickle Cell programme. Its purpose is to make the proposed service tangible for the Memorandum of Understanding and the tender — not to be the production system.

What it demonstrates

  • Role-based access for clinicians, patients and nominated delegates.
  • A structured, personalised care plan and an at-a-glance acute crisis view.
  • Research consent capture, an episode Friends & Family Test and free-text feedback.
  • An audit trail and a patient-facing log of who has accessed their plan — by design, to boost accountability and trust.

What production would add

NHS Care Identity (CIS2) sign-in for clinicians, assured information governance (DPIA), NHS-approved cloud hosting, real identity verification and messaging, antivirus-scanned uploads, and clinical safety assurance. These are deliberately left to the appointed delivery partner.
